MINERALS
Perhaps the greatest benefit of sea vegetables lies in their wealth
of minerals. According to the 74th Congress, 2nd Session Senate
Document No. 264, the soils of our farmlands are severely depleted
of minerals. It says, “The alarming fact is that foods—fruits
and vegetables and grains—now being raised on millions
of acres of land that no longer contains enough of certain
needed minerals, are starving us—no matter how much of
them we eat!” Even more alarming, Senate Document 264
was published back in 1936. Read the complete report:

Sea vegetables draw an extraordinary wealth of
mineral elements from the sea that can account for up to 36%
of their dry mass. These include calcium, magnesium, potassium,
sulfur, phosphorus, iodine, iron, zinc, copper, selenium, molybdenum,
fluoride, manganese, boron, nickel, cobalt, and many more. The
minerals found in sea plants are far more absorbable by the body
than any mineral tablet. Our bodies are naturally adept at extracting
nutrients from plants and foods, but have a more difficult time
with hard pills (especially minerals). Most mineral supplements
contain only the elemental mineral form, which means they are
basically ground-up rocks, therefore having a very low bioavailability
(absorption). Chelated minerals are better, since they are bonded
with an amino acid, making them more “desirable” by
the body. But even with chelated mineral supplements, at best
you are getting less than half of what they contain. However,
when you consume vegetables that contain high amounts of organic
minerals (like sea vegetables), your body is easily able to absorb
nearly 100%!
IODINE and THYROID FUNCTION
Organic Iodine feeds the thyroid gland, which controls metabolism
and maturation of the nervous system. Iodine is important for
thyroid disorders, both underactive and overactive. Studies
show that the human body adapts readily to higher iodine intake,
where the thyroid gland is the main tissue involved in use
of iodine (it is a component of thyroid hormones). An enormous
percentage of the world's population suffer from iodine deficiency
because the land, plants, and animals that serve as common
dietary sources are very low in iodine. In many countries,
iodine is added to table salt to help this problem.
VITAMINS
Sea vegetables contain many vitamins. Red and brown algae are
rich in carotenes (provitamin A) and are used, in fact, as
a source of natural mixed carotenes for dietary supplements.
The high vitamin C content of red and brown algae is also notable.
Other vitamins are also present, including B12, which is not
found in most land plants. Vitamins, however, cannot be utilized
without minerals, and having both in natural organic form is
one of the real benefits of sea plants.
FIBER
Sea vegetables have a high fiber content, making up 32% to 50%
of dry matter. The soluble fiber fraction accounts for 67-87%
in brown sea vegetables, more than any other type. Soluble
fibers are generally associated with having cholesterol-lowering
and hypoglycemic effects.
DETOXIFICATION and CHELATION THERAPY
LIVING SEA can be valuable in chelation therapy (a technique
to remove heavy metals and/or radiation from the body). It
is a rich source of Alginate, a natural absorbent of radioactive
elements, heavy metals and free radicals. Alginate has the
unique ability of binding heavy metals and radioactive elements
to its own molecules. As the Alginate cannot be broken down
by the bile or saliva and cannot be absorbed by the body, it
is secreted from the body together with the heavy metals and
radioactive substances. For those interested in detoxification,
we recommend a triple-dose regimen of LIVING SEA for three
to six months. After this period, you may want to have a hair
analysis done in order to make sure the toxins have been reduced
or eliminated.
ANTI-CANCER
LIVING SEA contains Fucoidan, which research has shown may promote
apoptosis (the self-destruction of cancer cells). Fucoidan
may also help naturally eliminate harmful cells from organisms.
How is LIVING SEA different from other sea vegetable
supplements?
In the West, there is a mentality of “magic bullet” drugs
and isolated one-shot cures. We are always thinking in terms
of the “active ingredient”. When scientists study
herbs, they like to take the plants apart piece by piece, looking
only for the individual compounds it contains that are “responsible” for
the benefits—as though the plant were nothing more than
a container. This kind of thinking is in stark contrast to that
of Eastern medicine, which accepts the entire plant as a whole,
with the idea that every part of it contributes to its healing “energy”.
Since science is constantly discovering “new” compounds
in herbs and then revising their lists of “active constituents”,
it would seem that Mother Nature is ahead of that game—by
billions of years.
But there are other sea vegetable products on
the market that use complicated extraction processes to yield
more of the constituents that the manufacturers feel are important.
This is at the expense of reducing or eliminating the rest of
the plant's nutrients that aren't considered or known to be beneficial.
Additionally, many of these products are cooked. According to
the oldest Japanese recipes of preparing sea vegetables, they
have traditionally been served raw, not cooked. We now know from
studies in Okinawa, Japan that Fucoidan (an anti-cancer substance),
as well as beneficial polysaccharides, break down if the vegetables
are cooked. Okinawans enjoy the lowest rate of cancer death among
the Japanese.
LIVING SEA is 100% natural, the way Nature intended.
It is made into powder from select clean-water harvests,
and carefully encased in Vegan capsules. LIVING SEA has not been
processed, extracted, isolated, cooked or otherwise altered.
It provides its vast array of nutrients in the exact same ratios
that have been fueling the oceanic ecosystem for millions of
years. LIVING SEA allows anyone to benefit from the power of
sea vegetables, without having to eat or taste them!
SUGGESTED
USE
LIVING SEA can be taken anytime, however we recommend taking
1 capsule three times a day, preferably with meals.
PREFERRED
USE (HOW WE TAKE IT!)
To get the most of out of LIVING SEA we suggest taking 2 to 4
capsules first thing in the morning, and 2 capsules with each
meal. For those who suffer from conditions such as cardiovascular
disease, cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or
poor thyroid function it is recommended to double the normal
dosage of LIVING SEA for at least two months. Once beneficial
effects are experienced, you may return to the preferred amount.
Since everyone is different, over time you may find your ideal
dosage of LIVING SEA to be higher or lower than our recommendations. |
